The Kairanga and Horowhenua County Councils and Foxton Borough Council wrote advising that the matter had been held over for further consideration, while the Palmerston North,i Levin, Feilding and Shannon Borough Councils and the Pohangina and Kiwitea County Councils intimated that they did not desire the services of the inspector. The Oroua County Council advised that it was agreeable to the proposol, but that the inspector should operate within its boundaries only on days to be arranged on consultation with the writers’ engineer. The replies were formally received, and, arising out of a suggestion, the’ cliairman (Cr.
