YULETIDE SENTIMENTS.
EXCHANGED AT HOSPITAL BOARD MEETING.
“MOST INTERESTING PUBLIC WORK.” Christmas wishes were exchanged at the conclusion of the meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board today. Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., led off by wishing the chairman (Sir James Wilson) and Lady Wilson the season’s compliments and expressing the hope that Sir James would long be spared to carry on his work in hospital affairs. Sir James reciprocated, complimenting the board members on the excellent work achieved during the year. Speaking of the board’s finances he stated: "YV’e hope that we will be able to make ends meet at the termination of the financial year. That, of course, is all that we can hope for. Hospital work is the most interesting of any public work. Engaged in it, you feel that you are doing some good for some one.”
Sir James added that letters of appreciation from grateful patients such as one communication received this afternoon were sufficient reward for the work done. In conclusion, he extended the staff and all connected with the hospital Christmas greetings and best wishes for the coming year.
