MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE.

TO MEET HERE IN FEBRUARY. JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS. Contemporaneous events of importance to take place at Palmerston North early next year are the celebrations of the jubilee of the municipality and the conference of the New Zealand Municipal Association. The Mayor (Mr F. J. Nathan), who has just returned from a visit to Australia, in conversation with a “Standard’' reporter to-day, mentioned that the executive of the Municipal Association would meet here on February 1, the conference to open at 10 a.m. next day. Probably, the deliberations of the civic delegates would extend over a couple of days. Contemporaneously, the jubilee celebrations will be conducted. Mr Nathan observed this morning that he would immediately set about furthering arrangements in this connection.
