The newly formed St. Patrick’s Social Club held a social evening in the Empire Hall on Wednesday, the attendance being very large. At a suitable interval the objects of the club were explained by Rev. Father MacManus and Messrs A. S. Faire and A. M. Ongley, who stressed the advantages of keeping the young people together. Cards, music, dancing and vocal,, items were enjoyed by the gathering. Misses Butler and Bartlett contributed a duet, the Convent boys a quartette, Miss Mann a solo and Mr Greening humorous recitations.
