OPTIONAL CLAUSE.
IRISH FREE STATE MAY SIGN. (Australian Press Association.) Received September 12, 9.45 a.m. GENEVA, Sept. 11. The delegates from New Zealand and South Africa announced to-day their intention of signing the optional clause.
According to an announcement by Mr McGilligan, the Irish Free State will also sign. In an address to the League Assembly to-day, Major Marr stated that he had hoped to announce that Australia would sign, but owing to circumstances that had arisen during the last 24 hours he could not at present make a definite announcement on the subject.
DOMINIONS’ VIEWPOINTS,
(Australian Press Association.—United Service.) Received September 12, 10.40 a.m. GENEVA, Sept. 11. It is expected that when Major Marr is instructed from Australia and when Sir James Parr returns from London the Dominions’ dejegates-will state their viewpoints on the optional clause.
