RANGITIKEI.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) ' AIARTON, Sept. 13. Among the Rangitikei visitors to the Wanganui races yesterday wore: Airs G. W. D. Morris, Airs K. Stevens, Airs F. R. H. Brice, Airs W. Oldfield (Alarton); Airs Lloyd Hammond (Rata); Mrs W. Wilson, Mrs J. Bull and Miss Green (Huntervillo). Air and Mrs A. Halford, formerly of Alarton and now of Wellington, arc visiting thoir old home. Air F. H. Andrews, of Taihape, is on a visit to Wellington. Rev. Father Lynch, of Alarton, -is visiting Taihapo and is tho guest of Rev. Father Doolaghty. Aliss O’Callaghan, of Taihapo, is visiting Airs Rapson, Wanganui. Mrs Colin Boyd, of Raotihi, is tho guest of Air and Airs R. AI. Sheldon, Taihapo. Airs and Airs R. J. C. Herrick and Mrs B. Haig, of Hastings, aro visiting Taihapo. Mr John AlcJarrow, a well-known Rangitikei farmer, died at his residence, Fern Flats, on Wednesday at tho ago of 59 years. Claude Charles Wilson, a hairdresser, was arrested at Taihapo on Wednesday on a charge of having at Wellington on Alarch 22 last failed to comply with tho terms of a maintenance order in respect of his three children. It was stated in Court that tho arrears on tho order up to January last were £2BO 7s 1 6d. Accused was remanded to appear at Wellington. “From Calais to Dover,” the play to bo produced at tho Marton Bulb Show next week, has the following cast: Alisses E. Smith. I. and B. Crookc, and N. Simpson, and Alessrs N. Netherclift and B. Openshaw. Miss Taylor is tho producer. Air G. Porter, of Alarton branch of the Bank of Australasia, has received advice of his transfer to Wellington. Air Porter has prominently identified with athletics locally.
