At the meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Board the following decision was reported after consideration in committee: — “That, after an exhaustive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the nomination of Ukelclc Lady (late Pandora) for the Fairhall Handicap at the Marlborough Racing Club’s meeting on March 2, tho board is unable to determine on the evidence available that information as to tho horse’s past performances was deliberately withheld and resolves as follows: In the case under review tho owner’s failure to supply the club and the handicappers with particulars placed the other horses competing in the race at a serious and unfair disadvantage. The board therefore imposes on the owner tho maximum penalty of £2O for a breach of., rule 184; that the board also expresses dissatisfaction with tho part played by the trainer, S. A. Egan, who showed serious lack of appreciation of his duties as a public trainer in not seeing that the information as to the performances -within his knowledge was supplied by the owner at the time of the nomination.”
