THE Makerua Drainage Board have received authority from the Local Bodies Loans Board for the raising of a loan of £2500, for river erosion protection works, in the Board’s District. The Government have agreed to subsidise the above loan up to £2OOO, under the relief of unemployment act. This will enable the Board to keep their present workers employed, and will provide work for 15 additional workers. It is pointed out that unemployed in the Board’s District will have first call. H.
