POSITION ABOUT NORMAL.
“Charitable aid in Palmerston North for the past month has been about normal,” reported the charitable aid officer (Mr F. Aisher) to the Palmerston Njirth Hospital Board to-day. “I Issued 216 rations to 25 families at a cost of £46 12a, oompared with 207 rations to thirty families, costing £52 2s for July. In August, 1928, the figures were 280 rations for 33 families, costing about £7O. “The number of casuals calling has decreased slightly. Of the 26 who called I a»isted 22 with beds and meals at a cost ’of £6 4s. For July the figures were 31 at a cost of £lO ss. In August, 1928, I assisted 13 ,at a cost of £2 125.”
