INTERESTING WEEK.

WORK IN PARLIAMENT. (By Telegraph—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 17. The present week should be interesting in Parliament from a legislative point of view, as the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill and the Annual Tax Bill will be brought down and' read a first time. It is expected that the Government will modify its proposals in regard to the former in view of the hostile criticism to the Government’s intentions, as already expressed.
