HOCKEY CONTROL.
MANAWATU EXECUTIVE MEETING. Mr M. Levy presided over the fortnightly meeting of the executive of the Manawatu Hockey Association last evening. Also present were Messrs Hanson, W. Sutton, R. Hoare, Smith and Scott. It was decided to invite tho Horowhenua Association to send two teams to play at Palmerston North on September 25th. The reports from the managers of the A and B teams, which played at Levin last Wednesday, were received. The manager of the Manawatu primary school team, which visited Wellington on Saturday, was congratulated upon the showing made by the boys. The Manawatu team to defend the Winter Shield against Wanganui tomorrow will be as follows: —Goal, A. Ward; backs, T. Pratt, W. Sutton; halves, Davey, Hanson, D. Hoare; forwards, Turner, Duckworth, Worsfold, R. Hoare, J. Kyle. Reserves: J. Sutton, Inkpen.
