NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Sept, 16. Record entries were received for the New Zealand golf championships to be played on the Wanganui Golf Club’s tielmont links, commencing on September 26 and continuing until October 4. There are 70 professionals and amateurs with a national handicap of six and under entered in the open and amateur championships. With approximately 25 with national handicaps of seven and over, and a limit of 72 competitors, this will mean a draw for the last two of the 72 places. The committee has decided to allow other entrants to play, provided they agreeable to start before 830 a.m. or after 11.30 a.m. If these players have to start late in the morning, their afternoon round will commence approximately at 3 p.m. Preference as to the time of starting will be given to those with lower handicaps. All who have entered are being circularised to this effect The draw for the open and amateur championships will tako place on Thursday evening.
