GENERAL FORECAST. Moderate to strong south-westerly winds- veering later to westerlies in and south of Cook Strait. Seas rather rough to rough generally. Strong southwesterlv winds in the Eastern Tasman Sea veerin" gradually to westerlies, with moderate to rather rough seas Weather cold and changeable, with passing showers in most districts; improving gradually, but only temporarily in western districts. Some frosts inland.
DISTRICT REPORT. CLOUDY AND UNSETTLED. The Government meteorologist wired to-day:—The indications are for freshening westerly winds, moderate to Btrong. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled, with ram following. Conditions will become mild. The baromcetr is unsteady. MANAWATU RIVER GAUGE. Noon—2ft.
