REDUCED CHARGES.

ELECTRICITY IN CHRISTCHURCH

Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 17. Reductions aggregating £17,578 in the retail rates for the supply of electricity were • decided upon at last night’s meeting of the City Council. The new charges will come into operation on October .1. The principal changes are as follow:—Flat rate units, reduced from 5d to 4d; maximum demand rate from 6d to 4id a unit; reduced charges for street lamps; 10 per cent, reduction in the commercial power rates.- The council also decided to increase the rate for commercial radiators from lid, to 2d a unit.
