SOCCER FOOTBALL.
MANAWATU v. HAWKE’S BAY. Mr H. Johnson, has selected the following soccer team to represent Manawatu against Hawke’s Bay on Saturday:—Goal, Tarrant; backs, Askam, ILearsey; halves, Cooinbs, John, J. Crow r e; forwards, McSheffrey, Baigent, Goodall, H. Childs, Young. Reserves: T. Crowe, Lyons. Corkindale is not available. The Hawke’s Bay team will be as follows: —Goal, Tasker; backs, Chambers, G. Young; halves, Conroy, Rogers, Gray; forwards, Simmonde, H. Penman, D. Penman, Butcher, H. Brehart. The team is a stronger one than that which drew with South Auckland. Tasker, Moss, Young, Gray, H. Penman and Butcher alone retaining their places. The curtain-raiser will be provided by the Marist fourth division team v r ho will play a local eleven. The Manawatu team will be as follows:—Goal, Kells; backs, E. Ivempson, Wackrow; halves, Marshall, Richardson. Sweetman; forwards, D. Smillie, C. Oliver, Carnell, A. Young, Sapwell. Reserves; Zimmerman, Reid, Turner.
