TO HIGH SCHOOL LABORATORY. The need for additional laboratory accommodation at the Palmerston North Boys’ High School was again stressed at the monthly meeting of the Board of Governors last evening, when the rector (Mr J. Murray) m his report made the following comment:—“ln view of the urgency of our application made a. year ago and repeated since for an extra science laboratory block and accommodation so that it may be ready for next year’s needs, I would ask the board to follow up the application made and press for its fulfilment” . “I move that this matter again be brought before the department for a reply,” stated the chairman (Mr W. R. Birnie). Mr Rutherfurd suggested that the department should also be asked if it had given consideration to the asphalting of the yard. , “I think that the department is awaiting the pronouncement of the Minister of Education regarding his educational policy, which will have a direct effect on the building programme,” commented the rector. “If the board pushes tho matter, it may come to light.” . It was decided to again draw tho attention of the department to the requirements indicated.
