GRIM DISCOVERY

3 P-M- EDITION

GERMAN PASTOR’S DEATH. SWINGING IN THE BELFRY. (Australian Press Association.) Received September 20, 9.20 a.m. BERLIN, Sept. 19. A fortnight ago Pastor Schwartz, who was connected with a church at Wolfenbuttel, disappeared. The country was scoured in vain and eventually the mystery was abandoned. Every day for a fortnight the old bell-ringer rung the bell call to prayers, but he failed to notico anything unusual until this morning. When the pastor’s hat dropped at his feet, the old bell-ringer looked up and saw the pastor’s body banging against the clapper and swinging with the bell.
