CAPTAIN OF MOERAKI FINED,
Received September 20, 11,15 o,m, SYDNEY, Sept, 20, Captain Leriard master of the steamer Moeraki, was fined £3OO for having prohibited immigrants on hia vessel. Captain Loriard stated that the Chinese were aboard without his knowledge, The Chinese were sentenced to six months' imprisonment, On the arrival of the Moeraki in Sydney on Tuesday from the Fijian Group, Customs officers found three Chinese in a lifeboat, The Chinese had been cooped up for five days, with scanty rations, They were in a very emaciated condition after a voyage o!
