HULL FIRE.

BIG PARAFFIN LOSS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Sept. 19. The oil tank fire at Hull, which, after burning 24 hours, was still blazing furiously yesterday morning, died down later in the day without exploding other tanks or firing inflammable material in the neighbourhood. As the whole of the sides of the blazing tank fell inwards it was feared that the paraffin might escape, and a deep trench was dug round the tank to minimise the risk of this. Experts were amazed at the manner in which adjacent tanks withstood the terrific heat. A warm tribute is paid to the bravery and endurance of the firemen and employees of the firm. It is estimated that some 300,000 gallons of.paraffin were destroyed.
