HEAVY FINES.

MARKS ON SHEEP. N.S.W. GRAZIER CHARGED. Received September 24, 10 a.m. _ SYDNEY, Sept. 24. At the Mungindi Police Court to-day Stephen Mitchell, a grazier, was fined £5 on each of 68 charges for illegally branding sheep, and £2 on each of 83 charges for defacing earmarks. The fines totalled £556, with costs amounting to £54. The police stated that stock thieves had been operating in the pastoral districts of New South Wales and Queensland lately.
