PERSONAL.
Messrs. G. J. Crean (London) and W. Paterson (Wellington) were guests at tho Citizens’ Lunch Club to-day. Mr F. M. Cordery, who is leaving Palmerston North shortly to take up a position at Hawera, was farewelled by his fellow members of the Citizens’ Lunch Club to-day. On behalf of the club, Mr A. Hopwood _ wished Mr Cordery every success in his new sphere of activities. The funeral of the late Mr Robert Waller took place at the Kelvin Grove cemetery yesterday afternoon. The number of cars and the beautiful floral emblems at tho graveside testified to the general high esteem in which the deceased gentleman was held. A short service was conducted by Rev. G. T. Brown, M.A. The pallbearers were the late Mr Waller’s four sons and two sons-in-law. Mr Waller was born at South Loburn, Canterbury, in 1862, and removed to the North Island in 1900. For ton years he resided at Kaiwaiwai, W T airarapa, and then removed to Palmerston North, where ho had lived up to the time of his death. Tho bereaved family have received many telegrams and letters of sympathy from friends and relations in both the North and South Islands.
