TORRENTIAL STORMS.
DAMAGE TO ITALIAN RAILWAYS. (Australian Press Association.) Received September 24, 11.50 a.m. ROME, Sept. 23. Torrential storms have played havoc with the southern railways, a large section of which was swept away at Potenza. A repair gang of ten went out aboard a light engine and two trucks and disappeared in the maelstrom.
