ANOTHER THEATRE.
BROADWAY PROPOSAL. COST TO BE £30,000. At an approximate cost of £30,000, a most modern'theatre is shortly to he erected on tho old Zealandia Hall property, now used as a motor garage, with shops in front. It is expected that an earlv start will be made on the building and its completion will take about nine months. Palmerston Pictures, Ltd., who own the property, have contemplated erecting a theatre on the site for some time past and state that tho latest in seating accommodation for 1300 or 1400 will be included in the furnishings, it being intended to have de luxe chairs in the circle, while the most up-to-date heating plant and lighting effects are also included in the building programme. The main entrance will be from Broadway and, of the six existing shops in the block, two will be removed to give access through a vestibule to the stalls, two stairways branching off a lobby leading to the foyer and circle upstairs. There will be an imposing facade and a second storey is to be ,added to the concrete portion more recently built.
