The Prime Minister announces the Bppointment of a Royal Commission to investigate economy measures as follows : (MR GEORGE SHIRTCLIFFE, former managing director of Messrs A. 8. Paterson, Ltd., merchants, Wellington. MR JAS. BEGG, of Dunedin. COLONEL J. J, ESSON, former Secretary to the Treasury, Wellington. ' MR J. L. GRIFFIN, formerly president of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, Wellington. MR ALEXANDER MACINTOSH, of Wellington, formerly Government auditor in the Bank of New Zealand. Mr Shirtcliffe will be chairman of the Commission.
