AUSTRALIA TO ENGLAND FLIGHT. KINGSFORD SMITH MAY SET OUT. Received January 27, 9.55 a.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 27. Air, Commodore Kingsford Smith stated to-day that he would probably attempt the Australia to Englalid record in- September or October, making the outward trip only. , . . “I shall' be merely satisfying my conscience in accomplishing what I failed to do last year,” he said.
AUSTRALIA OFFERS NO JTOB. SYDNEY, Jan. 26. Air-Commocjore Kingsford Smith has received a hint to the effect that there is no hope of. the Commonwealth Government finding him an aviation job or providing a subsidy for a London air mail, owing to a shortage of funds. It was stated to-day that Kingsford Smith probably would go to New Zealand to reside. • Piloting the Southern ■Cross he made many pleasure flights over the city to-day, taking 17 passengers on qaen trip.
