PAHIATUA.
PAHIATUA, Jan. 27. Mr J. A. Hastwell, of Patea. was a recent visitor to Haunui. Mr E. Chatwick is, the guest of Mrs I. Houlbrooke, of Haunui. Mr E. C. A. Martin, of Waharoa (Matamata) is on a visit to Pahiatua, in which town he resided for many years. Mrs A. Tullooh, of" Pahiatua, who has been holidaying at Foxton, is on a short trip to Waipawa. Miss Edwards, Mat&hiwi, formerly a teacher at tho Tiraumea School, is the guest of Mrs L. Houlbrooke. A' very enjoyable tennis party was given to her friends by Mrs L. Houlbrooke, at the “Homestead,” Tiraumea. Mr and Mrs J. Robbie, with Mr R. J. A. Robbie and Miss B. Olsen, have returned from a visit to Wanganui, where they wore tho guests of Mr and Mrs W. F. Robbie. Miss Faulkner, formerly of tho Ngaturi Sohool, has been appointed to the charge of the Mangahao (Ballanco) school. Mrs D. O’Brien, of Mangamutu, is an inmate of tho Pahiatua Hospital, having entered that, institution a few days ago.
