FAMOUS RACEHORSE.

PLANS FOR PHAR LAP. Received January 29, 10.6 a.m. NEW YORK, Jan. 28. There is a possibility of an international race bringing together Fhar Lap and the United States horses -Twenty Grand and Mate. Mr J. Davis is considering bringing Phar Lap East for a clash with the United States three-year-old co-champions of last year. Much depends on his showing against Dr. Freeland, Plucky Play and Marine in the special race ana the 60,000 dollar handicap. Being a gelding, Phar Lap is not eligible for the Saratoga Cup, and the Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont, but Arlington Park, Chicago, offers three attractive purses for older horses during July. Meetings at Chicago and Maryland in the fall are also full of rjch events. Phar Lap in the meantime faces strong opposition in the West.
