A 12-roomed' residence in Harris Street, owned and occupied by Mrs W. J. flees and family, wp* totally destroyed by fire last night, the occupants, with the exception of two of the sons, being absent at) Tangimoana beach. The monthly meeting of Court Little John, A.0.F., was well attended on Tuesday evening, Bro. F. Death, C.R., presiding. The installation of officers for the ensuing term was carried out by P.C.R. Bro. F. Death, assisted by Bro. R. Upchurch as master of ceremonies, the following officers being .installed : P.C.R. Bro. F. Death; C.R., Sister Muriel Death; S.C.R., Bro. A. Duncan; S.W., Sister E. Molndoe: J.W., Bro. L. Mclndoe; 5.8., Bro. A. Fletcher; J. B, Bro. R. Conder; secretary, P.C.R. Bro. L. Mclndoe; treasurer, P.C.R., Bro. H. C. Gronn. The secretary presented a balance-sheet showing a credit on the Bick and funeral fund of £2OO. Sick pay for the year amounted to £255. The accumulated funds of the court are now nearly £SOOO. P.C.R. Bro. O. Gronn wa3 appointed delegate to the district meeting at Wellington on February 10. A yote of condolence was accorded the relatives of,Bro. W. Duncan, who was a member of Court Enterprise (Masterton), and a letter of appreciation was also received from Court Enterprise thanking the members of Court Little John for attending to the funeral arrangements of their late brother. . , A very enjoyable cricket) match was played on the county ground# yesterday between Porewa and Broadway, the fortaer winning by 74 runs at stumps, with two wickets in hand. /•'
