(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, Jan. 29. At the last committee meeting of the Bulls Tennis Club it was decided, no full holiday being available to commence the handicap combinod doubles competition for the Newman Cup on the first convenient Saturday. The grading list for doubles has been rovised l and this competition is open to pairs eligible for tho secondary doubles medal matches ) that is, for pairs whoso combined grading numbers aggregate not less than sixteen. A nomination fee of 2s per pair will be charged for this competition, to provide further prizes. If necossary it 13 probable that the competitors will play in two groups, Wednesday .and Saturday ' and the winners will play off. In accordance with the rules of tho club a list of financial members has been placed in the pavilion. * Bulls Bowling Club sent two rinks to St. John’s, Wanganui, to tako part in the Rangitikei country clubs versus Wanganui clubs annual match. On Wednesday afternoon next Bulls and- Takaro tennis clubs will play a match -at Bulls. On tho Bulls croquet lawn on Thursday afternoon, Mrs H. Stevens (holder)' defeated Mrs E. Wilson in a match for. tho Ellis Star, tho scores being: 26—18. On Thursday next Bulls meet Vyoodvillo at Palmerston North in tho Manawatu competitions.
