CYCLING MISHAP.

On Saturday afternoon, Eric Youll, aged 14 years, of Ashhurst, was compelled to enter the Hospital after a collision between his bicycle and a motor car driven by Mr W. B. Dudson, a farmer, of Milson’s Line. It appears that the bov, who was unused to cycling in the city, was travelling fairly rapidly along Broadway and failed to see the car which was being driven from the direction of Bangitikei Street and turning the corner to the Post Office. Mr Dudding, seeing the danger, slowed his- car up, but a crash ensued and the cycle handlebar smashed into the. rear left door inflicting a compound fracture of the lower jaw. The Hospital authorities stated to-day that the condition of the lad was quite satisfactory.
