GRAND ENTERTAINMENT.

AH roads will lead to the Opera-House on Friday night. Widespread interest and enthusiasm is evident. A splendid souvenir programme is to be printed and_ besides other good things this will contain some “snappy” and “cheery” anti-depression contributions. This miscellaneous concert is being organised by Mr Harry Dawson, of Australia, who is a\ visitor to this city. The whole proceeds are to be handed over in equal proportions to tho Mayor’s Relief Fund and tho Salvation Army Christmas cheer (Ensign Thorne’s fund) without any deduction for expenses whatsoever. The Mayor, who is also co-operating enthusiastically, will be in tho chair. Mr Dawson will show some unique pictures which attracted an audienco of over 2000 in Sydnoy, and will be supported by tho Salvation Army Band which will contribute beautiful band music. Orchestral and other talented artists are to assist. Owing to the times, admission has been fixed at the low cost of Is to any part of the ■hall The box plan opens at the Central Booking Office, Broadway, on Wednesday.
