Mr P. G. Mildon was, at yesterday's meeting of the Kairanga County Council, extended congratulations by the chairman (Cr. D. Collis) on his appointment as chairman of the Manawa.tu Drainage Board. An improvement in the condition of Squadron-Leader M. C. McGregor, instructor of the Manawatu Aero Club, who was seriously injured at the Milson Aerodrome recently, was reported by the Hospital authorities to-day. At the annual meeting for the election of stewards and representatives to the Quarterly Board, held at the Levin Methodist Church on Monday evening, and presided over by Rev. W. G. Slade, M.A., the opportunity was taken to present long-service diplomas to Messrs P. W. Goklsworth (Mayor of Levin) and J. H. Bowater, who have been local preachers for the Mothodist Church, Mr Goldsmith for 55 years and Mr Bowater for 42 years.
