YOUNG SCIENTISTS.
WORK FOR UNEMPLOYED. (By Telegraph—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 14. Among the unemployed at present are a number of young scientific workers, for whom the Government is arranging openings in connection with dairy research. They are to be placed in various dairy factories to assist in testing of milk, the methelyne blue test, direct count, curd tests, and water tests. The information they will be able to secure will be of great assistance to the factories in helping suppliers to correct faults which can be remedied, and the general result will be an improved product. These young men are to be paid by the factories, with a subsidy from the Unemployment Board, and it is hoped that they can carry out work in conjunction with the Palmerston North, Hamilton and Hawera laboratories.
