BULLS.
(From Our Own Correspondent). v BULLS, Dec. 16. A splendid display of raffiu, poker and miscellaneous hand work, dono by the pupils of Clydesdale School, drew parents and friends to the number of forty to the Carnarvon Hall on Thursday afternoon. Mr G. R. McKenzie, chairman of the School Committee, congratulated the children on the excellence of their work, which was a credit to them and a double credit to their painstaking teacher, Miss Flavell. The show was greatly admired by all present. A concert was given by the children, and consisted chiefly .of drill displays by senior and junior pupils, and recitations. Afternoon tea was provided by a ladies’ committee, and a very happy little gathering concluded with a presentation to a popular teacher, Ivan McKenzie handing her a silver vase and a box of handkerchiefs, while Delcie Zajonskowski followed with a bouutiful bouquet. Miss Flavell, who was greeted with cheers, suitably responded. An apology for non-at-tondanco was received from Mr J. R. McSneddon, who was teller at the Bulls branch of the Bank of New South Wales for some time, was here during the week taking leave of friends before leaving f ol . Suva, whither lie lias been transferred on promotion. Mr Sneddon was well-known and very popular in. tennis and athletic circles, and his many friends will wish him success in Ins new sphere. Mr George Fleming, who suftered a serious illness early in the week, is an inmate of Wanganui Hospital, and Ins condition is reported to bo much the same Air and Mrs F Stock are also inmates of the same institution. Rev. A. C. Lano has returned from hospital, and is reported to he progressing favourably.
