GARDEN PARTY.

A garden party in aid of the Girl Guide Association was held this afternoon in the grounds of Dr E. C. Barnett’s residence in Fitzherbert Avenue. Guiders, Rangers, Guides and Brownies were present in large numbers and there were stalls for produce, cakes and sweets and cookery, a bran tub and also afternoon tea. The attractions included folk dancing, tennis, croquet and miniature golf. Valuable assistance was rendered by members of the executive, including Mrs O. King (District Commissioner), Mrs Bert (president), Mesdamcs E. G. Sim, Y\ imsett, O Connor, Rodgers and Stewart, Miss YVarren’ and Miss Warburton.
