Evans, C. Chrystall, A. Baird On Wodncsday morning nine pupils from tho Foxton District High School wero examined for the awards of tho Royal LifeSaving Society by Mr W. Eyre, of Palmerston North. Tho following wore successful in passing:—Proficiency : M. Moore, C. Robinson, M. Mason, J. Barron, E. Withers, F. Roore, R. Thane, H. Berry, A. Baird. Bronze Medallion: M. Moore. C.' Robinson, M. Mason, J. Barron, E. Withers, F. Roore, R. Thane, A. Baird. W. Hussey, of the Surf Club, who passed tho proficiency test last year, also passed the bronze mcdaltion. examination. Yesterday afternoon the second round of the Triangular Bowling Shield contest was hold at Foxton under very favourable conditions. The following are the details— Foxton (Moses, Jas. Christie, D. Christie, Mattar, skip) 26 v. Shannon (Butt, Newton Clavton, Alexander, skip) 11. Foxton (Ta’whai, Bryant, Howe, Roore, skip) 27 v. Levin (Pink, Bryant, Challies, Pyke, skip) 10. Foxton (Trueman, Newth, Huntley, Thomson, skip) 26 v. Shannon (Aim, Hyde, Grey, Mason, skip) 16. Foxton (Mairs, Scadden, Hinds, Woods, skip) 16 v. Levin (Fletcher, Routley, Brown, Clements, skip) 21. The aggregate for the two rounds £layed to date are Foxton 144, Shannon 98, ievin 74.
