MRS MOLLISON’S FLIGHT.
LONDON, Dec. 16. An incorrect early report that Mrs Mollison (Amy Johnson) had started on tho last stage of her flight from Capetown to London caused a sharp look-out at French and British aerodromes yesterday afternoon, and large crowds waited for hours at Croydon. Mr Mollison thinks that his wife is now likely to arrive on Saturday morning. Mrs Mollison cabled: “Impossible to cross Atlas Mountains owing to snowstorms. Am fed-up and worried.”
ARRIVAL AT ORAN. Received December 17, 10.40 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 16. 1 Mrs Mollison lias arrived at Oran, a seaport of Algeria, from Beni-Ounif. ACCIDENT TO MR VICTOR SMITH. (British Official Wireless.) Received December 17 11.5 a.m. RUGBY, Dec. 10. Mr Victor Smith, who set off to fly to Capetown, met with a serious mishap near Saint Malo to-day. When at a low altitude his engine failed and he jumped from the machine with a parachute. He landed safely, but the plane was badly damaged.
