When the Duchess of Abercorn opened a new boy seoutß’ hall in Belfast recently, the ceremony took the form of lighting a fire in the fireplace, over which ran the inscription, “hero let the fire of friendship burn.” The Duchess was given a scout’s ration of two matches for the task and lit the fire with only one.
