EXTRACTS FROM "STANDARD.” DECEMBER 22, 1902. At a meeting of local cadet corps it was decided to request the Government that officers of cadets be placed on the same footing as those of adult corps, and that the regulations which governed the latter also apply to the cadets, otherwise the corps intended to disband. For tho Maori elections there were a large number of candidates going to the poll in each of the four electorates. In their match with an Auckland eleven, Lord Hawke’s cricket team won by an innings and 129 runs. The new White Star liner Arabic had been successfully launched at Belfast.
