PICNIC AT MT. BIGGS.
The children of Mt. Biggs school held a very successful picnic and sports gathering in the sehoolgrounds to mark the annual “break-up” of the year. Parents attended in good numbers and a most enjoyable day was spent The races were keenly contested and resulted as follow; —Girls under 15: Doris Field 1, Joan Elliott 2. Boys under 15: Bruce Mariagh 1, Colin Lobb 2. Girls under 12: Lorna Hayes 1, Kathleen McKay 2. Boys under 12: Bruce Managh 1, Colin Lobb 2. Girls under 10: Merle Managh ], Nita Managh 2. Boys under 10: Ernest Y T ork 1, Donald Colquhoun 2. Girls under 5: Esmc AlcKav 1, Jeanette Managh 2. Bovs under 5: Graham Managh 1, Russell Lobb 2. A number of valuable presents were generously _ donated by business people of Feilding and were competed for in the following events: Single girls: Miss Merrit 1„ Marjory Jessop 2. Single men : Allan Lobb 1, Earl Beazer 2. Married ladies: Mrs Field 1, Mrs York 2. Married men: Mr Reed and Mr Lobb (tie) 1. Chain stepping: Mr Mnnngah 1. Girls’ three-legged race: Mildred Elliott and Eileen Elliott 1. Men’s three-legged race: Allan Lobb and Earl Beazer 1. Babies’. races: Graham Managh 1, Ruth Jessop 2. Mrs Field presented a goose which was won by Mrs Lobb. Before afternoon tea tho prizes were presented by the chairman, Mr Lobb. Mrs Lobb presented each child under five with a book.
