HEAVY PASSENGER LISTS. Between 2000 and 3000 railway passerigors arc at present passing through Palmerston North daily, and on Saturday the total is expected to reach a figure in the vicinity of 5000. The north-bound daylight Limited express to-day was a very full train. Eor the first time this season the o p.m. express for Auckland this evening was duplicated by a following relief express to cope with the rush. Extra relief expresses started running to and from Napier to-day. Four or five additional locomotives have been placed in commission at this centre to deal with the increased traffic.
