All tho other visiting horses did pace work on tho sand and tan tracks. Silver Ring, who arrived yesterday, was allotted strong pace work, moviiig very freely. Ho is to contest the Railway Handicap and tho Derby. Gold Trail was also out, doing useful exorciso. Her knee is still slightly enlarged, but does not appear to affect her. Blacksmith was schooled over a couple of hurdles, showing a slight improvement on yesterday. , , Carfcx, High Pitch and Kings Archer havo arrived. WINGATUI TRAINING NOTES. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Doc. 23. A strong gale was _ against fast times at Wingatui this morning. This was partially tno of so few horses being sent against the watch. Nightly had Night Lad for a companion over half a milo on the course proper, the pair running the distance in 54scc. Princess Argosy was the only ono Gieslcr’s team to gallop, and she ran half a mile, the last three furlongs against the wind in 43sec. Water Power jumped off from the mile post on tho tan track and ran three furlong from tho seven to four . furlongs posts in 36scc. She was then joined by Brown Pearl and ran the last half mile in 53 l-ssec. It was a pleasing gallop. The only other gallop of importance was recorded by Fair Fixchange who ran a mile on the tan track in 1.47. All the other locally trained horses engaged at tho meeting were given from half to strong work on tho plough.
