OROUA DOWNS.
(From Our Own Correspondent). OROUA DOWNS, Dec. 22.
The annual meeting of the Oroua Downs Sports Club was held in the hall on T uesday evening, when between thirty and forty members wore present. Tho balancesheet was read and adopted on the motion of Mr F. Raikes. The financial position of tho club was shown to be very sound, the total assets being just on £IOOO while the excoss of assets over liabilities is £937. The debit balance at tho bank last year was £B3 9s 4d, but in spite of the depression it had been reduced to £6l 18s 9d at tha end of the last financial year. Mr F. Raikes, congratulated the officials of the club on the splendid work they had done ard mentioned that their efforts were reflected in the success of the club. Mr J. Q. Cameron (president) also thanked the members for their .unfailing enthusiasm and co-operation throughout the year. The newly-elected officers are as follow:—President, Mr Cameronvice-presidents, Messrs E. Conlan, F. C.’ Raikes, V. Bird, J. Funnell, D. C. Cowdrey and R. Craig; auditor, Mr C. Massey: secretary. Mr R. Gates; hall committee. Messrs J. Sears, J. Scott, M. Darker, J. Conlan, W. Gordon, D. Funnell and A. Thompson The secretary was voted an honorarium of £5 5s for the work he had done for the club; tho auditor was voted £1 Is, and Mr W. Gordon (secreof the hall committee) £2 2s, which Mr Gordon handed back to the club.
