BIG BOXING EVENT.

The 15 round professional fight arranged by tho local boxing association is arousing unprecedented interest in this district and particularly in rhe Bush district where one of the principals resides. When Ted Oxley, of Pahiatua, and Archie Hughes, of Auckland, meet at the Opera House on Monday night, the onlookers will see one of tho most stirring and interesting fights witnessed in tho Dominion. They will see amazing footwork on the part of the champion and clever hooks and feints by the Pahiatua lad. They will see, if tho fight is fought along the same lines as their previous oncounter in Auckland, tho two boys standing toe to too, trading punches, ducking, sido-steping and feinting such as only good boxers as Hughes and Oxley can. It will be a glorious mill, with the odds even, but Pahiatua supporters cannot see their lad beaten. The preliminaries will include bouts between A. Ross (Newbury) and 11. Percy (Hawke’s Bay); B. Downics (Marton) v. A. Candy (P.N.); J. Wilson (Marton) v. C. Rush (H. 8.); J. Ford (Masterton) v. J. Davies (Pahiatua) and H. Reeves (N.Z. light-heavy champion), of Pahiatua v. S. Reid (Masterton). The box plans are now open at tho Central Booking Office.
