HOLIDAY IN NORTH

EXODUS TO SEASIDE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND Dec. 24. After rainfall yesterday totalling nearly one inch, which delighted farmers and gardeners, but disappointed shoppers and holiday makers, tho sun shone brightly this morning, and though it was later somewhat cloudy, a large number of motorists had their confidence sufficiently restored to set out on camping excursions. It is estimated that 3000 people left by trains north and south to-day and there was a great exodus in the afternoon to seaside resorts.
