RETIRED OFFICER FAREWELLED.
PRESENTATION TO CONSTABLE
Marking years of association in the service, Constable H. Cole, wL’d recently retired on superannuation, was met late yesterday afternoon by his colleagues jn the Police Force and by members of the Court staff, on whose behalf the presentation of a chiming clock was made to him. Tho recipient was accorded musical honours.
Inspector P. Harvey, in handing over the gift, stated that Constable Cole had been a conscientious officer a.nd he was sorry that he was leaving the force. He wished him happiness in his retirement. Senior-Sergeant Whitehouse, Senior-Detective Quirke, Detective Russell, Constable Miller and Mr Parlane, of the Court House staff, in adding their best wishes for a happy retirement, spoke of Constable Cole’s many good qualities as an officer and citizen.
Constable Cole expressed his regret at parting from his active association with old friends, and conveyed thanks for the gift and the sentiments of goodwill winch had accompanied it.
