ENGLISH MANOR FIRE.
“DINGLEY DELL” Of PICKWICK PAPERS. Received December 27, 12.55 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 26. Cobtree Manor, near Maidstone, which was the Dingley Dell of the Pickwick Papers, was burnt early on Christmas morning. The servants escaped in their night attire. The owner, Mrs Drake, who is over eighty years old, was carried from her bedroom by. a nurse companion. She was unharmed by her terrible experience.
