Dr. J. A. Stalhvorthy, of the Auckland Hospital, has been awarded the New Zealand medical travelling scholarship for 1930, has been warded the New Zealand obstetrical scholarship for 1932. A three months old baby thrown from the window of a blazing house landed safely on sheets held by neighbours at Brithdlr, Glamorgan-. Two women who helped in the rescue afterwards jumped to safety.
