BOWLING.
NEW YEAR TOURNAMENT. To-day 46 entries had been received for the Manawatu Centre’s New Year pairs bowling tournament, but as the time for closing has been extended until to-morrow morning, it is expected that Feilding clubs will enter two or three pairs to bring the total to 48, thus making four sections of twelve. The official draw of sections and greens takes place at 2 p.m. to-morrow. Last year there were 46 entries for the tournament. YVELLINGTON CENTRE’S TOURNAMENT.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 28. The Wellington Centre bowling tourney was continued to-day, when three rounds were played, making six in all. The section leaders are:— Section A.—Warwick (Newtown) 5 wins, 1 loss; Adams (Karori), O’Donnell (Wellington), Naismith (Karori), Lawrie (Lyall Bay), 4 wins, 2 losses. Section B.—Thomson (Thorndon) 5 wins, 1 loss; Gardiner (Kelburn), Naylor (Lyall Bay), Neilson (Karori) 4 wins, 2 losses. Section E.—Crawford (Karori) 6 wins; R. J. Smith (Kelburn) 5 wins, 1 loss; Fossetto (Victoria), Markman (Thorndon), 4 wins, 2 losses. The last three rounds of the section play will take place to-morrow.
