ORDER FOR AUTOGYRO.

AIR MINISTRY’S LARGE MACHINE (British Official Wireless.) Received December 29, 11.30 a.m. RUGBY, Dec. 28. IMue.li importance is attached in aeronautical circles to the Air Ministry’s decision to place an order for an experimental autogyro machine to carry five passengers, the biggest of its typo yet built. It will he fitted with a radial engine, probably an Arinstrong-Siddeloy 50(1 h.p. Panther. It is estimated that the machine will have a top speed of 100 miles an hour and a cruising speed of 130; also a slow speed of about 20 miles hourly. The constructors expect the machine to bo able to take off after a run of about 70 yards and to land at a low speed, needing a very short run to pull up.

PERSIA BUYS BRITISH MACHINES

LONDON, Dec. 28. The Daily Herald says that the Persian Government has ordered three souadrons of two-seater bomber aeroplanes at a cost of £200,000, from the Hawker Company. Similiar ILA.F. bombers will probably be twenty miles an hour slower.
